AQUACULTURE TERMINATION CASE STUDY
An employee who had been working for the company for the past nine (9) years, was persistently absent from work, on the grounds of ill health, specifically asthma, and lower back pain, often without medical certification from a doctor. On average, the employee would be absent from work at least four (4) times a month. The Company wanted to address the issue formally with the employee.
The Company had an HR officer with little experience in industrial and complex labour issues. As a result, the Company was referred to OML by a previous client of OML. Upon inception, OML was briefed on the issues and was also provided with the case notes.
